Coupon Statistics
Welcome to Gracefully Saving. If you are new to couponing and want to save a little or a lot then you’re in the right place.
First I want to talk a little about coupons.
Coupons can be found in various places:
1. Free Standing Inserts – 85.9% (Those you get from a newspaper)
2. Handouts – 5.6% (Those you get in a store)
3. Direct Mail – 2.6%
4. Magazine – 2.4%
5. In/On Pack (Peelies) – 1.4%
6. Internet – 1%
7. Other – 1.1%
In 2009 manufacturers distributed 311 billion coupons! That’s up 10.7% from 2008. Of those 311 billion coupons only 3.2 billion were redeemed by consumers, which is up 23% from 2008. To me that says we are not taking full advantage of what the manufacturers are distributing.
3.2 billion coupons equats to $3.5 billion dollars in savings.

2. Kroger
3. Supervalu
4. Military Commissaries
