So if you’ve never shopped at Walgreens start slow and don’t be intimidated. If does take some time, but it’s actually kind of fun. (It’s a little more complicated than CVS)
Register Rewards (RR)
- Coupons from the catalina machine that print out when you buy the required advertised items.
- Only one RR deal will print per similar deal. So you’ll need to have multiple transactions if you want more than one RR of the same item(s)
- If the RR are from different deals then they should print. (so you could do one Tostitos deal, one Old Spice deal, and one Diaper deal and they’ll all print, just not two of the same)
- If your RR doesn’t print make sure the cashier checks to see if the Catalina machine is working. You can return the items there on the spot or call the Catalina Company at 1-888-322-3814, make sure to have your receipt.
How to use RR
- Most are On Your Next Order (OYNO) that can be used like cash on your next purchase. (The Meijer’s I shop at takes these, so it never hurts to ask)
- Most say that they cannot be used on tobacco, alcohol, lottery, gift cards, stamps, etc. Some will allow it, just ask first.
- You cannot use more RR’s and MQ than the number of items you are purchasing. That’s why sometimes you need cheap fillers to use RR (like a pencil at $0.19) to even out the balance. Store coupons do not affect how many MQ and RR’s you can use.
Rolling
- 99% of the time you cannot roll a RR deal into the same deal. Example, if you use a RR from Quaker Oatmeal to purchase more Quaker Oatmeal you will not get another RR. You have to use a different RR to get another RR.
Order of Coupons
- MQ first
- Store Coupon second
- RR last
Rain Checks
- You can get a rain check but in my experience they won’t write for the RR
- They are good when it’s a store coupon deal (ex. Hunt’s Tomato Sauce 3/$1.00)
